A man of many names.

This week we will be discussing the rise of Islam, and its messenger Muhammad. Following as it rises from a small and frowned upon band of monotheists to an empire which would encompass a territory greater than the Roman Empire at its peak.  We will also be analyzing Islamic Art pieces and relics to gather insight into this mysterious and often misunderstood religion and culture. Throughout the course of this unit we will also be investigating the links Islam has with the other Major Religions as Muslims would put it people of the book. As well as the major beliefs and practices.
