DO NOT MISS OUT! This week we are going over the Aztec & Inca Civilizations. So if you thought the Maya were cool, then you're in for quite a treat.
The Aztec, are Awesome and the Inca are incredible! No seriously, two equally cool civilizations who built a life among very harsh conditions. The Aztec built a flourishing city atop a less than stable swamp and the Inca utilized the very steep and dangerous landscape of the Andes to call their home. So don't miss out!

Also, this week we will be determining our teams for the final project, remember you can work with anyone who has me for a history teacher, so think wisely.

Oh and since there's no more VOWs I thought I'd entertain you with words that do not have an english equivalent.

VOWs
  • Toska:  Russian – Vladmir Nabokov describes it best: “No single word in English renders all the shades of toska. At its deepest and most painful, it is a sensation of great spiritual anguish, often without any specific cause. At less morbid levels it is a dull ache of the soul, a longing with nothing to long for, a sick pining, a vague restlessness, mental throes, yearning. In particular cases it may be the desire for somebody or something specific, nostalgia, love-sickness. At the lowest level it grades into ennui, boredom.”
  • Mamihlapinatapei: Yagan (indigenous language of Tierra del Fuego) – “The wordless, yet meaningful look shared by two people who both desire to initiate something but are both reluctant to start.” (Altalang.com)
  • Iktsuarpok: Inuit: – “To go outside to check if anyone is coming.” (Altalang.com)
