The Fictional character of Robin Hood is often remembered for "stealing from the rich to give to the poor." However, if we take this view its a bit skewed. Because you see, Robin Hood wasn't stealing from just anyone who was well off, he was "stealing" unfair and excessive taxes that were being pushed onto the population by a greedy ruler, Prince John. To give back to the people whom it was originally stolen from. He is a hero because he did what was right, and in this case it happened to be liberating funds that were unjustly removed from their rightful owners, the peasant's of Feudal England.

The story of Robin Hood is based in reality, therefore the characters are based on actual people. The most obvious would be de facto Prince "King" John the cowardly ruler (only in charge because his brother King Richard the Lionheart is away fighting the Crusades) who through a series of unfair taxes and bumbling attacks has in fact caused his kingdom to crumble, and turn against him. This week we will be exploring the Character of "King" John and how his ineptitude as ruler led to the creation of what is one of the most important documents on government ever written (hey it goes by a latin name you know it's important) the Magna Carta!

We will also watch feudalism continue to crumble with the 100yrs war between England & France and on Friday we will be discussing the role of Women in history.  Don't miss a moment of it.
